Keep yourself agile while keeping the wickets: Rishabh Pant
The Indian gloveman termed agility, vigilance and discipline are the key factors for a player to work behind the stumps.
“I think one quality would be, you keep yourself agile because in wicket-keeping you do different types of conditions. So if you are agile enough that’s going to help a wicketkeeper,” Pant said on SGTV Podcasts.
“Second thing, watch the ball till the end. So, sometimes what happens as a wicketkeeper we tend to know that the ball is coming and we become relaxed. So, till the time you catch the ball, you should watch it.
“And the third one is – be disciplined and keep working on your techniques. Everyone has different techniques but at the same time if you can come closer to the base, that is going to help everyone,” he added.
Pant led Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2022, where they finished fifth on the points table and missed the playoffs berth. The 24-year-old has been named India’s vice-captain for the upcoming T20I series against South Africa. The series commences on June 9 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
