KL Rahul and Kevin Pietersen continue to share their healthy relationship. Both of them are known for sharing some funny banter time and time again. This time, amid the IPL 2026 season, another funny altercation between KL Rahul and Kevin Pietersen goes viral on social media platforms.
On the second day of May 2026, the Delhi Capitals (DC) opener, KL Rahul, shared some of these photos through an Instagram post. One of those photos shows an expensive black sling-back of the batter. Along with his followers, Kevin Pietersen, a former England batter and a former coaching member of the Delhi Capitals, made a random comment.
KL Rahul shared memories of April
Rahul shared a total of 8 photos in the Instagram post. Basically, he wants to make a collage of memories of April 2026. The last month was crucial for the versatile batter, who is now playing as an opener for the Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2026 season.
So far, in the ongoing Indian Premier League, the 34-year-old keeper-batter of DC has scored 433 runs for a strike rate of 185.83, averaging 54.12. He is currently the leading run-scorer in the tournament, holding the orange cap for scoring that amount of runs. Sunrisers Hyderabad batter Abhishek Sharma is in the second place with 425 runs from 9 IPL 2026 games. Rahul’s IPL 2026 stats are so far supported by three half-centuries and one century. He shared the notable occasions with DC through the Instagram post as well.

Pietersen stepped down as the Delhi Capitals (DC) mentor ahead of the IPL 2026 season, citing an inability to commit the necessary time to the role. He was appointed to the role in February 2025 for the 2025 season. During his one-year stint as a coaching member of the team, Delhi Capitals played promisingly, but missed a spot in the play-offs in IPL 2025.
Rahul took a dig when Pietersen went to the Maldives in the middle of IPL 2025
During that period, Pietersen and Rahul shared a close bond with each other. When the former cricketer went to the Maldives for vacation in the middle of the campaign, KL Rahul took that opportunity to make some funny comments.
"A mentor is someone who goes to the Maldives for two weeks mid-season," KL Rahul had said in a video posted by DC in 2025.
Meanwhile, during his days as an active cricketer, Kevin Pitersen played for the Delhi-based franchise as a batter. Pietersen made his IPL debut in 2009 with Royal Challengers Bangalore after being signed for a then-record US$1.5 million.
