Ahead of the IPL 2026 campaign, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) faced an awkward moment in the press conference. Former West Indies all-rounder, Dwayne Bravo, who might be unaware that the mics were on, made some unexpected comments during a press conference.

Kolkata Knight Riders is all set to start their IPL 2026 campaign from March 29, a day before the opening match of the tournament. In their first match of the season, KKR is scheduled to face Mumbai Indians (MI vs KKR) at the Wankhede Stadium, the home ground of Mumbai Indians.
Ahead of the clash, Dwayne Bravo, mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders, said that he had two girls in his house. Ajinkya Rahane, the skipper of the team, in reply told Bravo that the mics were on.
"I had 2 chicks (Girls) in my house", Dwayne Bravo mentioned. "Mics are on,be careful not to talk like this", Rahane quickly responded to Bravo.

Kolkata Knight Riders had a practice match at the Eden Gardens ahead of the IPL 2026 season
Before their opening game, KKR arranged an intra squad match on March 20. The practice match was between Purple Knights and Golden Knights. Purple Knights not only won the contest, but reportedly claimed all the stipulated scenarios as well, thanks to a blistering century by Angkrish Raghuvanshi. According to the media reports, the keeper-batter smashed an unbeaten 109-run knock off 55 balls.
Whilst Purple Knights were captained by Ajinkya Rahane, Rinku Singh was the leader of the Golden Knights. Rinku did a decent job as a batter, scoring a quick fire 40. New Zealand opener Tim Seifert scored 46, while Madhwal, who is probably in trial, got 40 runs and helped Golden team to post 199 runs in exchange for 8 wickets in 20 overs.
With Raghuvanshi's firey ton, supported by Anukul Roy's unbeaten 30, Finn Allen's 23, the Purple side went to score 219 runs for only 4 wickets.
