KKR takes on RCB in match 36 of IPL 2024 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday, April 21. This is the reverse fixture between the two teams with The Kolkata Knight Riders playing their home leg at the moment.

They have played two on the trot winning one and losing one. Overall, KKR have won two games at home and two away and lost two. This is the second time the two sides are meeting in this edition of the IPL. KKR won the previous meeting by seven wickets at the Chinnaswamy chasing.

The Kolkata Knight Riders lost their previous match against Rajasthan Royals in their previous game. They scored 223 with Sunil Narine scoring his maiden IPL and T20 ton. However, Jos Buttler's seventh IPL ton stole the show for the Royals.

They did many things right with both bat and ball despite the loss. The batters got runs, and the bowlers were able to take the game deep and almost pulled it off for the hosts. Nitish Rana's likely return is also possible in the next game against RCB.

The southpaw was nursing an injured finger. He got injured in KKR's campaign opener against SRH on May 23 at Eden Gardens. In this article, we predict KKR's likely XI against RCB.

Sunil Narine

Narine is fresh off his maiden T20 and IPL ton for Kolkata Knight Riders. The century has taken him to the third position in the run-getters list. He has also taken seven wickets so far in the season.

Phil Salt (WK)

Salt will open the batting with Narine. He was out for 10 runs against the Royals. Against LSG, he scored an unbeaten 89 to take the Knights home. He has already scored 201 runs in six games so far in the season.

Angkrish Raghuvanshi

Raghuvanshi will bat at three. He has shown good temperament so far in this IPL season. He scored 30 off 17 balls and shared an 85-run stand with Sunil Narine.

Shreyas Iyer (C)

Skipper Shreyas Iyer will slot in at four. He scored 11 off seven balls against RR. So far this season, Iyer is yet to score a fifty and has played the sheet anchor's role.

Venkatesh Iyer / Nitish Rana

If Nitish Rana returns to the playing XI, he might replace Venkatesh Iyer in the XI. Iyer scored a 50 in the previous meeting against RCB.

Rinku Singh

Rinku Singh should bat at five. He batted at number six and scored 20 off just 9 balls and played a big role in KKR getting to 223. He is the only KKR player in contention for the T20 World Cup for India.

Andre Russell

Russell will slot in at six. Against RR, he could not score too many just 13 off 10. He was not needed with the bat in the previous match against RCB. He has already scored a fifty for KKR this season. He has picked six wickets so far this season.

Ramandeep Singh

Ramandeep can slot in at seven. His best score for KKR remains 35 off 17 which he scored against SRH in the very first game of the season. He has taken some good catches in the field.

Mitchell Starc

Starc went for 50 against RR and remained wicketless. He picked three in the match against LSG and none against RR. So far he has given away over 200 runs with the ball for just five wickets.

 Harshit Rana

Harshit will be one of the two Indian seamers in the XI along with Vaibhav Yadav. KKR has used Vaibhav as an impact sub. Rana picked up 2/45 against RR. He has taken seven wickets from five games this season.

Varun Chakravarthy

Varun concludes the likely XI for KKR. He bowled the final over against RR and almost did a good job defending nine against Jos Buttler. He and Narine have taken seven wickets each so far.

KKR has used Vaibhav Arora as the Impact sub in most of the games. Suyash was used as the impact sib in just the first game against SRH. He has picked up seven wickets from four games already.
