Harshit Rana took a dig at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after the Kolkata Knight Riders' win over the Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Harshit Rana's statement came during a lighthearted conversation with KKR head coach Chandrakant Pandit.

Earlier, Harshit Rana was fined 50 percent of his match fee for his flying kiss celebration after dismissing Mayank Agarwal. The pacer was handed a 100% fine and a one-match suspension for a similar incident with Abishek Porel against the Delhi Capitals for breaching the IPL's Code of Conduct.

The 22-year-old pace bowler grabbed attention for his celebration during KKR's recent match against LSG. Rana put his finger on his lips after taking a wicket. He celebrated with this gesture, following his punishments before. He teased his infamous 'flying kiss' celebration without completing it.

KKR was scheduled to return to Kolkata on Monday evening after a comfortable victory against LSG. However, their chartered flight diverted to Guwahati due to heavy rains in Kolkata. The flight landed in Guwahati around 8:45 pm on Monday. The KKR team is currently at the top of the points table.

BCCI Se Toh Baat Karo Hi Mat - Harshit Rana

During a diverted flight to Guwahati, Harshit Rana and Chandrakant Pandit engaged in a humorous conversation. They joked about rescheduling their last league match against RR, scheduled for the 19th in Guwahati. Rana suggested avoiding involving the BCCI in the rescheduling process.

“Ek kaam karte hai, practice kar lete hai, ek session yaha kar lete hai (Let's do one thing, keep a practice session here),” Rana said.

"Ek session yaha kar lete hai. Phir match bhi yahi khel lete hai. Ek last mein jo match hai hamara. (Yes, one session here and then we can also play our last league match here)," Chandrakant Pandit said.

"19 ko match hai. Kal parso mein hi khelke khatam kar lete hai. Toh 19 ko nahi ana padega. "We have the match on 19th. Lets get it done with by tomorrow or day after so that we don't have to come here again)," Rana added.

"Main dekhta hu. Baat karni padegi BCCI ke saath. (Let me see, what I can do. Will have to talk to BCCI)," Pandit added.

"BCCI se toh baat karo hi mat (Don't talk to BCCI)," Rana stated.

Harshit Rana has taken 14 wickets in nine games at an average of 21.29 and a strike rate of 9.56, with the best bowling figures of 3/24. He is the third-highest wicket-taker for KKR, trailing Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine.

KKR's flight was diverted to Varanasi after an unsuccessful attempt to land in Kolkata. The team opted to stay there and is expected to arrive in Kolkata around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, depending on weather conditions.

The Shreyas Iyer-led team will take on the Mumbai Indians (MI) in their next match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday, May 11. The Hardik Pandya-led team is currently in ninth place in the table with eight points to their tally.
