Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer has openly mocked the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for their disappointing performance in the ongoing IPL 2024. The Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) is badly struggling in the tournament.

While the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) lost a few very close matches, their bowling attack has been putting the team really down in the ongoing IPL 2024. The cricket experts have already been blaming the poor auctioning for their dismal show in the cash-rich T20 league.

Apart from bowling, none of the RCB batters, except for Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik, have made any significant impact in the ongoing IPL 2024, where Bengaluru’s fielding has also been disappointing so far. Speaking of the bowling, all of the RCB bowlers are struggling to put pressure on the batters.

And the story was not much different at the Eden Gardens on April 22. RCB faced the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the second time in the ongoing IPL 2024 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. However, KKR emerged victorious on both occasions, having thrashed the RCB by seven wickets in Bengaluru and then one run in Kolkata on Sunday.

Well, ahead of the KKR vs. RCB clash at Eden Gardens, Venkatesh Iyer trolled Bengaluru’s bowling attack. Iyer said that RCB is currently the most dangerous team in the ongoing IPL 2024, and their bowling attack is also good before bursting into laughter. He stated: "RCB is the most dangerous side right now. They have a very good bowling attack. That's it."

Speaking about the KKR vs RCB match, Kolkata managed to post 222/6 on the board against RCB on the back of their captain Shreyas Iyer’s fifty and Phil Salt’s 48 runs at Eden Gardens.

Apart from them, Rinku Singh (24), Andre Russell (27*), and Ramandeep Singh (24*) also helped KKR post a big total on the board against the RCB. However, Venkatesh Iyer could score only 16 runs from 8 balls against the RCB before being dismissed by all-rounder Cameron Green.

Chasing the 223-run target, the RCB had a poor start, but Will Jacks and Rajat Patidar’s half-centuries kept the Bengaluru team alive in the IPL 2024 match against the KKR. Later, Dinesh Karthik (25) and Karn Sharma (20) tried hard to take RCB over the line, but in the end, KKR won the game by 1 run.

With the thrilling win over RCB, KKR jumped to the second spot with 10 points in the IPL 2024 points table. On the other hand, RCB’s hopes of making it to the playoffs were badly dented by the heartbreaking loss to KKR at Eden Gardens.

Notably, KKR will next face the struggling Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the ongoing IPL 2024 at Eden Gardens on April 26, while RCB will face the presently third-ranked Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 25 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad in the tournament. Rajasthan Royals (RR) is currently at the top of the points table with 12 points from 7 games.
