Delhi Capitals (DC) batter KL Rahul has achieved a massive feat in the history of T20 cricket. He overtook Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Virat Kohli to become the fastest Indian to slam 8000 runs in the history of the shortest format of the game.
Delhi Capitals batter Rahul achieved the feat in the ongoing game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 against Gujarat Titans. The match between the two teams is taking place at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Sunday (18th May).

Rahul, who has been batting in the middle order for Delhi Capitals, was asked to open the innings in the ongoing game. He, however, aced the challenge brilliantly and played a magical knock for his team in what was the most crucial game for them in the tournament.
Rahul looked in sublime touch right from the start as he played some cracking shots in his innings and put Gujarat Titans bowlers under pressure. The right-hander has held up the one end and is making sure that he stays there to help his team post a big total on the board.
Rahul slammed a solid half-century against the Gujarat Titans in just 35 balls. The batter has been batting with a strike rate of over 160.
KL Rahul crossed the 8000-run mark in his 224th innings
During his innings, KL Rahul went past 8000 runs in the T20s. He achieved the feat in his 237th T20 match, and he crossed the 8000-run mark in his 224th innings. On the other hand, Kohli completed the milestone in just 243 innings in the shortest format.
Overall, Rahul became the third-fastest batter to slam 8000 runs in T20 cricket. The list is topped by Chris Gayle, who took 213 innings, and Babar Azam, who reached the milestone in the 218th innings. Mohammad Rizwan also features in the list.
