KL Rahul has been sensational form in the IPL. He has notched up over 500 runs in the IPL 2020 thus far from nine matches and continues to go strong. Though results have not worked in favour for Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), his individual form has earned him plenty of praises, and former Australia all-rounder Tom Moody is also mighty impressed with him.

Rahul has been named as the vice-captain of the limited-overs squad which is set to tour Australia following Rohit Sharma’s injury concerns. The Karnataka batsman had made his international debut in Australia during the 2014-15 tour. He had scored one century during that series but still has a lot to prove.

KL Rahul can easily grab the Test cricket by the scruff of the neck: Tom Moody

Moody said that Team India have picked up a class player in form of KL Rahul. Although he might not be in form in Test cricket but has experience Down Under. The former SRH head coach also mentioned that Rahul is a three-format player and will grab the longest format by the scruff of the neck.

“They have picked class. He may not have recent form in Test cricket. KL Rahul has class player,” Moody said in a conversation with ESPNCricinfo. “They have selected someone who has experience Down Under. Not every player gets it right the first time. I think he is a three-format player.

“He can easily grab the Test cricket by the scruff of the neck and have an outstanding cricketer. We know he has the game; he just needs confidence in the same.”

Rahul has been picked up as the wicket-keeper batsman in the ODIs while Sanju Samson will lead the shortest format.
