Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will kick off their Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026) campaign on March 29 with a big away match against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
The three-time IPL champions’ fans will see them in action at home on April 2, when they will lock horns against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
But before the season even begins, KKR has been facing major injury problems. Their bowling attack has been shattered with Harshit Rana and Akash Deep ruled out of the tournament due to injuries. And the Sri Lankan sensation Matheesha Pathirana is still doubtful for the league.

Harshit suffered a knee ligament injury during the T20 World Cup 2026, which forced him out of the tournament. KKR has signed in Navdeep Saini as Harshit’s replacement. Meanwhile, Finn Allen’s explosive batting at the top gives the team some hope despite these setbacks.
