Star Indian all-rounder and vice-captain Hardik Pandya shared a heartfelt message ahead of the ICC World Cup 2023 final against Australia. Hardik Pandya encouraged his teammates to bring the cup home, emphasizing that it is a collective dream for the billion Indian people.
The Men in Blue are gearing up to face Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, November 19. India has achieved a remarkable 10-match winning streak, while Australia has won eight matches and lost two games in the marquee event.
We Are Now One Step Away From Glory – Hardik Pandya
In a video shared on his Instagram handle, Hardik Pandya expressed pride in the team’s achievements and emphasized the years of hard work behind their success. Pandya highlighted the importance of winning the trophy for Indian citizens.
“I could not have been more proud of this team. Everything that we’ve done so far has been credit to the years of hard work behind us. We are now one step away from glory, from doing something special that we’ve dreamt of since we were children,” said Pandya.
Hardik Pandya suffered an ankle injury while bowling against Bangladesh early in the World Cup, leading to his exclusion from the remainder of the tournament. As a result of his injury, Prasidh Krishna replaced Pandya in India’s 15-member squad for the prestigious event.
We’ll Make Everyone Proud – Hardik Pandya
The 30-year-old expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming wishes and love after being ruled out of the World Cup. He acknowledged the difficulty of missing the rest of the tournament but assured that he would be with the team to cheer them on.
“Tough to digest the fact that I will miss out on the remaining part of the World Cup. I’ll be with the team, in spirit, cheering them on every ball of every game. Thanks for all the wishes, the love, and the support has been incredible. This team is special and I’m sure we’ll make everyone proud. Love, always, HP,” Pandya wrote.
