Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will be up against the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 40th match of IPL 2025 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. This article provides details about LSG Playing 11 vs Delhi Capitals for match 40 of IPL 2025.
LSG Playing 11 vs Delhi Capitals- IPL 2025, Match 40:
Openers: Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh
Aiden Markram will open the innings for LSG along with Mitchell Marsh. Markram scored a well-compiled half-century against RR in the last match and will look to replicate the same performance when he takes the field against DC on Tuesday.
Mitchell Marsh, on the other hand, hasn't been in the best of form since his return to the playing XI after missing a match against GT earlier in the tournament. The Australian all-rounder has looked out of touch in the last couple of games.

Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Nicholas Pooran, Ayush Badoni, Rishabh Pant (c/wk), David Miller, Abdul Samad, Shardul Thakur
The opening duo will be followed by Nicholas Pooran, who has been the backbone of the Lucknow Super Giants, but like Marsh, has blown cold in the last couple of matches. The Rishabh Pant-led side would hope for Pooran to get back among the runs to gain momentum for the second half of the tournament.
Lucknow Super Giants would also wish for their middle-order batters to play with a bit more intent and not rely on batters like Samand and Miller to guide them to a challenging total in the last couple of overs.
Lucknow Super Giants' management would be sweating over the form of Rishabh Pant, the batter who has done a decent job behind the wickets and as the captain of the team, but hasn't been able to contribute with the bat despite scoring a fighting half-century against CSK in Lucknow.
Bowlers: Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Digvesh Singh Rathi, Prince Yadav
Lucknow Super Giants has been able to snatch victories from the jaws of defeat in a couple of matches in the ongoing season, courtesy of some intelligent bowling in the final five overs, which was evident in the last game against RR, led by young fast bowler Prince Yadav.
Yadav, who has impressed everyone with his ability to bowl yorkers accurately in the death overs, was able to choke the opposition's scoring rate by bowling change-ups and varying his lengths, thereby not letting the batters get under the ball.
Prince Yadav was well supported by Avesh Khan from the other end, who, like Prince, backed his ability to bowl pinpoint yorkers and defended nine runs in the last over to take LSG to their fifth win of the season.
LSG also has experienced Indian bowler Shardul Thakur at their disposal, who has picked wickets at crucial moments in the season despite going for plenty of runs in all phases of the innings.
LSG would wish for their experienced leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi to continue the rich vein of form he has shown in the last couple of matches, as he is an integral part of the team's bowling lineup. Bishnoi's fellow spinner Digvesh Rathi has also bowled miserly and picked up wickets for the team.
