Openers: Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh
The overseas pair of Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh will start the innings for Lucknow Super Giants in the upcoming game against GT.
The pair will look to build on the performances they delivered in the last game against SRH, although in a losing cause.
Marsh and Markram scored half-centuries and made full use of the first six overs to get the team off to a solid start.
Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Nicholas Pooran, Ayush Badoni, Rishabh Pant (c/wk), David Miller, Abdul Samad
The opening pair will be followed by two wicketkeeper batters, namely Nicholas Pooran and Lucknow Super Giants' captain Rishabh Pant, who will be itching to score runs.
Pooran found his rhythm back against SRH and played a valuable innings to take the team over the 200-run mark at a time when LSG had lost its way in the middle overs.
Rishabh, on the other hand, was once again dismissed for a low score courtesy of a brilliant catch from Eshan Malinga.
The Lucknow Super Giants decided to bench experienced batter David Miller and went in with an overseas fast bowler, a move which proved to be somewhat successful.
Having said that, Lucknow might be tempted to give another chance to David Miller, given the lack of firepower in the middle overs of the game.
Lucknow Super Giants would hope for their middle-order batters to come good on what is expected to be a good batting wicket at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Bowlers: Akash Deep, Avesh Khan, Akash Singh, Ravi Bishnoi, Prince Yadav
Lucknow Super Giants would be disappointed by the performance of their bowling department, as both fast bowlers and spinners were not able to stem the flow of runs.
The Rishabh Pant-led side might want to bring in Prince Yadav for the next game against GT, taking into account the nature of the surface and the dimensions of the ground.
Along with Prince Yadav, the team would also give a thought to roping in Akash Singh for the next match, given his performance in the only game he has played so far in the tournament.
The fast bowler picked up three wickets in the game against PBKS, where other bowlers went for plenty of runs.
Another experienced player who has bowled well in patches has been Avesh Khan, who might retain his place in the playing XI for the next game.
As far as LSG's spin bowling department is concerned, the team will have to make a force change with their most effective spinner Digvesh Rathi getting banned for the match against GT.
The onus will be on Ravi Bishnoi to pick wickets in the middle overs in the absence of Digvesh Rathi.
