In a dramatic moment of the ongoing IPL 2026, Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) fought not just on the field but also on the social media space. The LSG vs DC league match turned into a spicy rivalry after KL Rahul got out for a first-ball duck at the Ekana Stadium on April 1.
Both Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have taken sharp digs at each other with staircase posts, and that has now taken social media by storm.
Delhi Capitals win the match after a scary collapse
The Capitals crushed the Lucknow Super Giants by 6 wickets to kick off their IPL 2026 campaign in a grand fashion. However, they had to work hard to make up for the early collapse. Chasing a target of 142 runs, DC slipped to 26/4, with KL Rahul returning to the pavilion for a duck.

But two young players managed to take the DC over the line inside 18 overs. Sameer Rizvi played a remarkable knock of 70* off 47 balls, while Tristan Stubbs supported him brilliantly with 39* off 32 balls. Their 119-run unbeaten stand took Delhi to 145/4 in 17.1 overs against the LSG.
LSG struggles to find rhythm at home
Earlier, Lucknow Super Giants were bowled out for 141 in 18.4 overs, thanks to valuable contributions from Abdul Samad (36) and Mitchell Marsh (35). DC bowlers were on a roll at the Ekana Stadium as Lungi Ngidi picked up 3 wickets for 27 while T. Natarajan grabbed 3 for 29.
Young debutant Prince Yadav was the only positive for the LSG, taking 2 wickets in one over and finishing with the impressive figures of 2/20 against the DC in their IPL 2026 clash.
KL Rahul’s golden duck sparks LSG’s 'staircase' dig
Moments after KL Rahul got out for zero, Lucknow Super Giants made the most of the opportunity to mock its former captain on social media. They posted a picture of an empty staircase leading to the dressing room. The timing said everything, as it was clearly aimed at KL Rahul walking back for a duck.

Actually, the Capitals had earlier shared a clip of KL Rahul arriving at the Ekana Stadium in a grand fashion, and now LSG’s cryptic post made it clear that it was the response to that post. Within minutes, the post went viral, and the trolling battle began between the LSG and DC.
DC has the last laugh with a savage counter post
After crushing LSG by 6 wickets in Lucknow, Delhi made a blistering comeback on social media. The franchise hit back with their own staircase post, but theirs showed Delhi’s victories over Lucknow printed step-by-step like a scoreboard on a staircase.
DC replied to LSG’s post by reminding them that they had beaten Lucknow in both matches in 2024, again in 2025, and now once again in 2026, showing how strong their record is in this rivalry.

It's about the way KL has been introduced at Ekana by DC. Be it past season or this one. Them taking shots (low shots imo) at their former skipper... pic.twitter.com/WmzFDzs1In pic.twitter.com/FVTrOguHYO
