Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) hosted Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the match 34th of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The match between the two titans of the league took place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. 

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) produced a magnificent effort with the bat and ball in the 34th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. They defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 8 wickets at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow and managed their 4th win of the tournament.

Chennai Super Kings were asked to bat at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. They were off to the worst possible start with the bat as they lost Rachin Ravindra early and after that, Ruturaj Gaikwad (17) perished too. 

Ajinkya Rahane, who opened the innings, played a vital innings of 36 runs but couldn't carry on the start he got. Ravindra Jadeja, who came to bat at No.4, held the fort for his team and made sure that he held the one end despite wickets falling at the other end for his team. 

Shivam Dube (3) and Sameer Rizvi (1) couldn't make a bigger impact. But Jadeja (57*) and Mooen Ali (30) made sure that they brought their team back into the game.. The duo batted well and added 51 runs that rescued Chennai Super Kings innings from 90/5 at the Ekana Stadium. 

After Ali got out, MS Dhoni (28*) played a brutal innings and made sure that Chennai Super Kings ended with a competitive total on the board at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. The Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side ended with a total of 176/6. 

For Lucknow Super Giants, Krunal Pandya was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of 2/16. Apart from him, Mohsin Khan, Marcus Stoinis, Yash Thakur, and Ravi Bishnoi took one wicket each.

Chasing the target, Lucknow Super Giants openers KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock came out all guns blazing and took their team off to a flying start. They took the game away from Chennai Super Kings with their blistering opening partnership at the top. 

Rahul and De Kock added 134 runs for the opening partnership and put Chennai Super Kings bowlers under immense pressure. While the South African batter ended with innings of 54 runs, the captain scored 82 runs. 

Nicholas Pooran (23*) and Marcus Stoinis (8*) then made sure that they finished the game for their team. Lucknow Super Giants emerged victorious by 8 wickets at their home ground in Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
