LSG vs CSK: Watch - MS Dhoni hits monstrous 101-me six off Yash Thakur in IPL 2024

MS Dhoni, on Friday (April 19), once again came up with a brilliant cameo to power Chennai Super Kings to a 170-plus total against Lucknow Super Giants in the ongoing 34th game of IPL 2024.

On a pitch where most of his teammates struggled to play at a good pace, MS Dhoni showed why he is widely regarded as one of the best finishers in the history of the game. The former India and CSK skipper walked out to bat in the 18th over when CSK were on 141 for 6.

The 175-run mark was looking tough for CSK at that stage. However, everything is possible when MS Dhoni is at the crease and he showed it again by smashing an unbeaten 28 runs off just nine balls. His innings was studded with three fours and two sixes.

In the 19th over, MS Dhoni hit Mohsin Khan for a six and a four before taking Yash Thakur to the cleaners in the final over.  The veteran hit the young pacer for six and two fours to take CSK to 175. The second six from MS Dhoni was a huge 101-meter hit. The ball was in the slot and MS Dhoni cleared his front leg before hitting the huge six.

Earlier in the game, Ravindra Jadeja's fifty helped CSK recover from a poor start. The allrounder remained unbeaten on 57 off 40 balls. Meanwhile, MS Dhoni has been in stunning form in this IPL and has made a huge impact with his batting in the death overs.

Even in the last game against Mumbai Indians, he smashed 20 runs off just four balls with the help of three sixes in a row. His knock helped CSK post a 200-plus total and it eventually made the difference as CSK won the game by exactly 20 runs.
