LSG vs KKR: Revealed - Who are the impact players nominated by LSG and KKR for game 54 of IPL 2024

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will be taking on each other in the 54th game of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024). The game is being played at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.

Both teams are very close to qualifying for the playoffs and will be looking to bolster their chances with a win tonight. With seven wins from ten games, KKR are currently at the second spot in the points table and have all but sealed their passage to the next round.

The two-time IPL champions thrashed Mumbai Indians by 24 runs in their last game and will be looking to make the most of the momentum. LSG, on the other hand, are in the third spot with six wins and four defeats so far. In their last game, LSG beat Mumbai Indians by four wickets and will be eyeing another crucial win tonight. 

This is the second meeting between the two teams this season. In the first game between them, KKR emerged victorious with a thumping margin of eight wickets. After restricting LSG to 161/7, KKR had chased down the total in less than 16 overs by losing just two wickets.

LSG have won the toss and opted to bowl first. Speaking at toss, LSG captain KL Rahul said: "We will bowl first. I'm not a best reader of a wicket, we just like chasing. The good thing is we have been able to adapt really well and quickly to the conditions, there have been quite a few briliiiant individual performances as well. There's been a lot of talk about strike-rate, and T20 cricket has changed a lot in the last couple of years. Yash Thakur comes in for Mayank Yadav."

KKR captain Shreyas Iyer said: "We would have bowled as well. Defending that total with five bowlers in the last game gives us a lot of confidence. There's a lot of self-belief in the team. We are going with the same team.

"Hopefully we continue with the same form. He has been optimistic from game one and just that he wasn't able to execute. He (Venkatesh Iyer) got tremendous and charater and happy for the way he executed. It's important to stay in the present," he added.
