Delhi Capitals would not have wanted this after the stunning show put on by their batters at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Lungi Ngidi, the big South African paceman, is down with a scary head injury.
The Delhi Capitals came into this game looking for a late win in the competition and making their way into the top 4 of the league points table. Their batters did a remarkable job as they helped DC score the seventh-largest total in the history of the IPL.
KL Rahul, the dynamic opener, went on to score the third-highest individual score by a batter in the history of the competition and set the tone for a massive total alongside Nitish Rana in a 220-run partnership for the second wicket.
Lungi Ngidi carried out in an Ambulance as South African fails to get on his feet after a tragic head injury
Punjab Kings made a good start to the mammoth chase, and Priyansh Arya was once again on charge in the powerplay. To restrain him, Axar Patel, the DC skipper, introduced himself into the attack in the third over of the game.
Having hit him for a four, Priyansh top-edged one ball as he attempted to clear the straight boundary over the bowler's head. Lungi Ngidi, running back, failed to judge the catch, and in the attempt to complete the catch, he hurt his head as it banged on the tough outfield at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
The physios immediately came in as the bowler failed to stand on his own feet after the incident. The ambulance had to be called inside the field to take the big South African off the ground in a stretcher.

Dusmantha Chameera might replace Lungi Ngidi as a concussion substitute
Lungi Ngidi clearly did not look in the best of shape to return, at least for the remainder of this game. They would hence need someone as a concussion substitute, and for that they need a player as a like-for-like replacement.
This would leave the Delhi Capitals with two choices of Dusmantha Chameera and Mitchell Starc, who could replace Lungi Ngidi as overseas pacers. Mitchell Starc is not yet available to play, hence making Dusmantha Chameera an obvious pick in the role.
He was also seen on the ground for the Axar Patel over but was later replaced by Vipraj Nigam, after nothing was confirmed on him replacing Lungi Ngidi as a substitute.
Priyansh Arya bangs two sixes off Axar Patel after being dropped by Lungi Ngidi
After being dropped off Axar Patel's bowling by the South African pacer, Priyansh Arya has not held back. He then went on to smack three sixes off the next four balls he played against the DC bowlers.
He first smacked the Delhi Capitals captain for two sixes, one in a similar fashion to the one he had missed in the third ball and then one while sweeping over the square leg region. After that, he hit another six on the next ball he faced in the next over from Auqib Nabi.
The batter, after the drop chance, has been striking at a strike rate of over 300 and has given PBKS a solid start with runs coming at nearly 20 runs per over in the powerplay.
