Major League Cricket has announced its fourth season, which will be played from June 18 to July 18, 2026, featuring the six teams over 34 games in the competition, and has revealed many new plans to lead to the rapid growth of professional cricket in the United States.

Major League Cricket has introduced franchise-level T20 action in its best form for the United States audience. They have been thrilled to witness the relatively new sport in their nation and have extended their support towards the growth of top-tier cricket in the US.

Inaugurated in 2023, the MLC remains the only ICC-sanctioned franchise league in the United States. In the last season of the MLC, ticket sales increased by a huge 53%, while the global broadcast has spread to over 90 countries. This is a clear testament to the rapid growth of cricket as a popular American sport.

Major League Cricket announces 2026 Schedule

The American top-tier franchise-level T20 global league, Major League Cricket, recently concluded its 3rd season successfully, and the MI New York claimed their second title in three years, narrowly passing the Washington Freedom, who were the defending champions from 2024.

The schedule for the fourth season of the MLC, which is destined to be played in 2026, will mark the 6 participating teams—Los Angeles Knight Riders, MI New York, San Francisco Unicorns, Seattle Orcas, Texas Super Kings, and Washington Freedom - playing in 34 games across the season with matches scheduled from the 18th of June to the 18th of July.

After blockbuster season 3, MLC looks forward to extending teams before 2027

The Major League Cricket authorities have also revealed their plans to expand to eight teams by 2027, with discussion already underway to establish a presence of the league in Canada as a part of their broader North American vision.

The blockbuster season three marked many happening moments, which included the record of 18 team totals exceeding 200 in the season, five of the games going off to last-ball finishes, and seven centurions. Monank Patel, the current US skipper, was the highest scorer of the season with 478 runs, and the 22-year-old youngster Rushil Ugarkar finished as the great find of the season.

Referring to their widespread success in season 3 of the Major League Cricket, the MLC CEO Johnny Grave has come forward and shown his excitement over the American audience receiving the sport wholeheartedly.

As per TOI, he said, "Season 3 showed that demand for top-tier cricket in the U.S. is real and accelerating. MLC is winning new fans, followers, and viewers throughout the USA and around the world. We’re delivering on our promise to grow the game and build relations with commercial partners.”

The American Cricket Enterprises has invested over USD 150 million into US Cricket and has also revealed its plans of having 10 international standard venues by 2030.

“The next phase is further infrastructure investment. With ACE’s continued backing, our goal is to bring even more world-class cricket to fans across the country, starting with Season 4 on June 18, 2026,” he added to the above-mentioned source.
