Manish Pandey Bought By KKR For 50 Lakhs In IPL Auction 2024

Manish Pandey will be playing for his former team Kolkata Knight Riders in the next season of the Indian Premier League. The two-time IPL champions signed him at his base price of Rs 50 lakhs in the ongoing IPL auction 2024.
The Karnataka batter is one of the few players who played in the very first season of the IPL and is still active. However, unlike most of those cricketers who are well-established in their respective franchises such as MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma, Manish Pandey has struggled to cement his spot in one franchise.
After playing three games in IPL 2008, he created history by becoming the first-ever Indian player to score a century in the IPL as he achieved the historic milestone in 2009. However, he did not really live up to the early expectations. Fast forward to 2023, and Manish Pandey has not scored a century in the IPL since his first one while he crossed the 400-run mark just twice in 16 IPL seasons.
He began his career in IPL with Mumbai Indians before moving to Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2009. In addition to Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore, he has also plied his trade for Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Lucknow Super Giants, and Delhi Capitals.
