A viral video from the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026 has raised match-fixing concerns after a bizarre fielding error during a tense game between New Delhi Tigers and South Delhi Superstarz. Bowler Pradyuman Sanan's mistake allowed the batting side to complete a crucial bye.

The incident took place during a massive 218-run chase at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday, August 15. South Delhi Superstarz chased down the target with two balls remaining to win by six wickets. New Delhi Tigers suffered their fourth consecutive defeat of the ongoing season.

Comedy of Errors in DPL 2026 Raises Match-Fixing Questions

South Delhi Superstarz needed three runs from three balls when Pradyuman Sanan bowled a wide down the leg side. Pranshu Vijayran attempted a pull but missed, and the non-stinker batter ran a bye. The wicketkeeper quickly returned the ball to Sanan's end for a run-out.

However, Sanan failed to collect the throw cleanly and missed the chance to dismiss Vijayran. The mistake levelled the scores and left South Delhi needing only one run from the final two deliveries. They completed the chase on the next ball.

The error drew sharp criticism from the Hindi commentary team during the broadcast. The commentator questioned Sanan's awareness after the wicketkeeper had done his job and thrown the ball to the bowler's end.

"Pradyuman, what have you done? You took your eyes off and the accident happened," the commentator remarked. "Keeper Keshav did his job perfectly by giving you the ball to run him out, but what were you thinking?"

Tejasvi Dahiya Leads South Delhi's Thrilling Chase in DPL 2026

South Delhi Superstarz captain Tejasvi Dahiya delivered an excellent batting display. He scored 60 runs from only 29 balls and turned the chase around when his side appeared to be under pressure during the final five overs.

South Delhi needed 76 runs from the last five overs after Pranav Pant fell for 32 off 27 balls. Dahiya then changed the momentum by attacking Manish Sehrawat in the 16th over, taking 22 runs from the over and keeping South Delhi firmly in the contest.

The Superstarz then collected 16 runs from the penultimate over despite strong bowling from Laxman and Yashjeet. That left them needing 18 from the final over. Dahiya and Pranshu Vijayran remained unbeaten and completed the chase with a 76-run partnership.

New Delhi Tigers Falter After Posting 217/7 In DPL 2026

New Delhi Tigers had earlier put up a strong total of 217/7 after batting first in DPL match. They finished the innings strongly, scoring 60 runs from the final four overs and giving themselves what appeared to be a challenging target in the high-scoring contest.

Vaibhav Rawal provided early momentum after the new opening pair failed to contribute much. Himmat Singh and Atulya Pandey then helped the Tigers maintain a steady scoring rate before the lower order took the attack to the bowlers.

Manish Sehrawat provided the late boost with 42 runs from only 20 balls. Lakshay Thareja also played an aggressive unbeaten knock of 30 from 16 deliveries, helping the Tigers reach 217/7.
