Mayank Yadav exposes BCCI's NCA, LSG, PBKS, Gujarat Titans announce abundant replacements

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have suffered a setback with pace sensation Mayank Yadav ruled out of the remainder of the IPL 2025 season due to a recurring back injury. The Lucknow-based franchise, led by Rishabh Pant, has roped in New Zealand pacer William O’Rourke as a replacement for Mayank.

Mayank Yadav was among the three players retained by Lucknow Super Giants ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. The pacer was ruled out of the early part of IPL 2025 and played just two games before the tournament was temporarily suspended. He picked up two wickets at an economy rate of 12.50.

On Thursday, May 15, the Indian Premier League issued a press release, confirming William O’Rourke as a replacement for the injured Mayank Yadav. Yadav has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to a back injury.

According to a release shared by IPL, “Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have roped in New Zealand pacer William O’Rourke as an injury replacement for Mayank Yadav. Yadav sustained a back injury and is ruled out for the remainder of the season. William O’Rourke will be his replacement at a reserve price of INR 3 crore."

Mayank Yadav took 2 wickets for 40 runs in four overs in his first match of IPL 2025 against Mumbai Indians (MI) on April 27 at Wankhede Stadium. However, he conceded 60 runs in his four-over spell against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.

Kyle Jamieson Replaces Lockie Ferguson for Remainder of IPL 2025

Punjab Kings pacer Lockie Ferguson has been ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2025 due to a hamstring injury. The New Zealand pacer had to walk off the field after delivering only two balls in the match against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 12.

Before the injury, Ferguson had featured in four games and picked up five wickets for the franchise. Punjab Kings are alive in the IPL 2025 playoffs with 15 points from 11 matches played so far.

PBKS signed Kyle Jamieson as his replacement for ₹2 crore. It will be Jamieson's second stint in the IPL after playing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in 2021. Jamieson was also part of the Quetta Gladiators squad in the 2025 Pakistan Super League but featured in just two matches out of nine.

Kusal Mendis to Join Gujarat Titans as Jos Buttler's Replacement

Sri Lanka wicketkeeper batter Kusal Mendis has been signed by Gujarat Titans (GT) to replace Jos Buttler, who will exit the IPL 2025 after the league stage to join England’s white-ball squad for the West Indies series.

Buttler will play his final match for GT against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on May 25 in Ahmedabad. Mendis has been brought in for ₹75 lakh and will be available for the Titans if they qualify for the playoffs.

"Gujarat Titans (GT) have picked Kusal Mendis as a replacement for Jos Buttler, who is set to leave for national duties on May 26, 2025, following GT's last league-stage game against Chennai Super Kings on May 25, 2025. The replacement will be effective from May 26, 2025.Mendis will join GT for INR 75 Lakh," the statement added.
