Mayank Yadav's injury history
Meanwhile, Mayank Yadav was first picked by Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2022 auction, but his debut had to wait as injuries kept him out of action that season. Unfortunately, the same issues continued into IPL 2023, and he missed another full season.
Finally, in IPL 2024, Mayank made his much-awaited debut, and it was nothing short of a dream. His raw pace and fiery spells immediately impressed one and all. However, his debut match ended in heartbreak when he had to walk off the field mid-game due to an abdominal injury.
He returned in the very next match and impressed again with his speed, but yet again, the youngster had to walk off after just 3.1 overs due to a side strain, which ruled him out of the rest of the season. He spent the next few months recovering at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.
After attaining fitness, Mayank made his T20I debut for India against Bangladesh, picking up two wickets. But soon after, he was hit by a back injury, which not only ruled him out of the India vs. South Africa T20Is but also kept him away from action for months, and now he is on the verge of going under the knife to address his longstanding back issue.
