MCC's "Life Membership" Is An Absolute Honour Which I Accept With Utmost Humility – Harbhajan Singh

Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has said that he is honoured to be awarded the life membership of the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) and he accepts the award with “Utmost Humility”.
Harbhajan Singh who is regarded as one of the best Indian spinners of all time was given the Honorary Life Membership this year. In his successful Test career, Harbhajan Singh has picked 417 Test wickets in 103 matches and is India’s third-highest wicket-taker in Tests.
Meanwhile, Javagal Srinath who is known as is one of the finest Indian seamers to step foot into the One Day International (ODI) cricket scene was also awarded the life membership of the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC).
Meanwhile, England players Sir Alastair Cook, Ian Bell, Marcus Trescothick and Sarah Taylor have also been included in the list. From South Africa, in total four players have been awarded the Honorary Life Membership. The list contains Hashim Amla, Herschelle Gibbs, Jacques Kallis and Morne Morkel. Australian cricketers Alex Blackwell and Damien Martyn all received the honour. From West Indies Ian Bishop, Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Ramnaresh Sarwan are included in the list.
Meanwhile, the legendary Sri Lankan spinner Rangana Herath who has scalped 433 Test wickets in his career has also been awarded Honorary Life Membership.
The Chief Executive & Secretary of MCC, Guy Lavender, in an official release stated:
“We are absolutely thrilled to be able to welcome our newest Honorary Life Members of MCC. The cricketers announced today are among the greatest international players of their generation.”
“We are privileged to now count them as valued members of our Club,”

The Veteran Indian off-spinner took to Twitter to thank the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) for awarding him the membership. He wrote:
“Over the years, I have always enjoyed playing at the Lord’s whether it’s been for India or as a visiting county team player against Middlesex. MCC’s “Life Membership” is an absolute honour which I accept with utmost humility. Thank you, MCC.”
