Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Hardik Pandya turned up for his team at the crucial juncture of the game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The 51st of the tournament between the teams is taking place at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Mumbai Indians have been all over Kolkata Knight Riders in the ongoing game. Hardik Pandya bowled a nippy-length ball around the leg stump. Sunil Narine cleared his front leg and looked to slog across the line. However, he missed the line and the ball completely to see his stump getting knocked over.

Sunil Narine scored 8 runs off 8 balls and also slammed 1 six in his innings. With his wicket, Kolkata Knight Riders were left tumbling at 43/4. After his wicket, things got even more worse for the Kolkata Knight Riders as they lost Rinku Singh as well for 9 runs off 8 balls, getting reduced to 57/5.

However, after that Venkatesh Iyer and Manish Pandey (42) bailed the team out of trouble. The duo added 86 runs together and made sure that Kolkata Knight Riders got back on track. Both the batters played vital hands for the team and ensured they posted fighting total on the board.

Venkatesh Iyer was the top run-getter for his team as he played a vital innings of 70 runs. His crucial innings powered the Kolkata Knight Riders to a total of 169 runs. For Mumbai Indians, Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of 3/18.

Piyush Chawla also praised Hardik Pandya, who returned with figures of 2/44, for his brilliant first over in which he took the wicket of Sunil Narine. He stated:

"The wicket was a bit stopping at the start, it’s a fresh wicket so it was a bit sticky, but no matter how it plays you have to bowl well. The way we bowled today it was really great to see.

"Well, at the end of the day, it totally depends on what the team requires, that time Hardik came and bowled a really good over. It looks like there is a bit of dew out there and it will play a little better," he concluded.
