Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya was at the receiving end of boos yet again in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. It came during the ongoing game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), underway at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
In the case of 215 runs, Mumbai Indians had a solid start to their innings, thanks to Rohit Sharma. The opening bat looked in terrific touch with the bat and played some magnificent shots in his innings, making sure he took his team off to a flyer in the big chase.
Even though Dewald Brevis, who came to open the innings, struggled to get going, Rohit Sharma made sure that he took the pressure off the youngster. The senior batter played an attacking innings and added 88 runs for the opening partnership with the young South African batter, making the bulk of the runs.
Rohit Sharma, who went through the lean phase in the last few games, made sure that he ended the tournament on high. The opening batter came up with a brilliant effort with the bat and slammed a blistering half-century at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
With the way Rohit Sharma was batting, he seemed all set for a big knock. However, he bagged an unlucky dismissal as he perished to Ravi Bishnoi in the 11th over of the game as Mumbai Indians lost their third wicket in quick succession of the time at the Wankhede Stadium.
As Rohit Sharma got out, the entire Wankhede Stadium gave him a standing ovation. But what caught the attention of many was the reaction of Hardik Pandya, who walked out to bat as the senior opener was walking back to the pavilion at his home ground in Mumbai.
While the entire crowd was applauding Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya walked past the opening batter without appreciating the batter's knock. However, as the fans in the stadium witnessed that and saw the all-rounder walking out to bat, they booed the Mumbai Indians skipper
