The MI vs RCB IPL 2024 is one of the most anticipated clashes in this year's IPL. The match will be played in Mumbai on April 11, Thursday. Mumbai tasted success finally against Delhi Capitals while RCB are still to get out of their rut.

MI and RCB will play just once this season. Both teams won one game each last season. The two teams have played 34 matches with Mumbai winning 20 games and RCB 14. They have a better head-to-head record at Wankhede as well as winning seven out of the 10 games at home.

MI vs RCB Team Analysis

Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians won their very first match at home to get back into winning ways. They scored 235/5 against DC as their batters regained form.

They defended the total in the end and won the match by 39 runs. Rohit Sharma scored 49 in the match while Hardik Pandya 33.

They play their next two games at home against RCB and CSK. Both are tough oppositions and Mumbai should have their plans in place against these opponents.

Knowing that the Wankhede is a high-scoring venue they will back their batters to continue their form.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

RCB have now lost four out of the five games they have played so far. In every game they lost it was the same old story. Their batting looks heavily relied on Virat Kohli with nothing above and beyond him.

Skipper Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell have not made their mark as of now in the tournament. Maxwell has two ducks in five games. He has looked rusty with the bat and has not taken responsibility at all.

The bowling too has the same old story. All of them have gone for runs. Karn Sharma, the most experienced spinner in the team has not played since the match against KKR. The pacers and spinners have leaked runs alike.

MI vs RCB Key Factors

Pitch Conditions

The Wankhede pitch is always a batting-friendly one and has remained true to its nature. MI posted 235 batting first at this venue in the very first game of the season.

Generally considered to be a chasing venue it will be interesting to see how much the team batting first posts. There will be dew on this wicket given the humidity levels in the evening.

Form and Fitness

Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya found some form for Mumbai Indians as did Tim David and the Impact Player Romario Shepherd.

His 32 off 10 balls changed the game on its head for MI against DC. Kohi is in great form and has already scored a century this season. He leads the run-scoring charts with 316 runs in five games.

Fitnes-wise, there are no injury concerns in the RCB camp. Suryakumar Yadav returned to the MI playing XI in their fourth game and scored a duck unfortunately. His fitness will be keenly monitored in the remaining games.

Tactical Acumen

There has been a lot of talk about Hardik Pandya's captaincy in the season so far. He opened the bowling in the first two games which was heavily criticised. Gradually he started bowling his premier bowlers and did not bow himself in the last few games.

Faf du Plessis has been under pressure as captain as none of his bowlers has answered his call in the last few games. He did not give the ball to Glenn Maxwell who has picked the most wickets for them.

There is also no clarity as to why Karn Sharma has not played the last few games. In short, Faf has been tactically very poor so far.

MI vs RCB Match Prediction- Who Will Win Today’s IPL Match? IPL 2024, Match 25

MI have tasted success in their previous match. Given the fact that they are playing at home, they are ahead in this contest against RCB who are struggling at the moment.

Conclusion

Mumbai's best chance to regain momentum remains in their next two matches against RCB and CSK. They have the players to perform. It's just that they need to recognise the potential and their skipper needs to lead the team well.
