Former England captain Michael Vaughan picked up his top three Pakistan batsmen of all time. Interestingly, Vaughan did not name legendary Pakistani batters like Mohammad Yousuf and Zaheer Abbas in his list.

Instead, he picked Javed Miandad, Inzamam-ul-Haq, and Babar Azam as the three best Pakistan batsmen of all time. All these players have achieved several milestones during their playing career and proved to be a tough nut to crack for opposition bowlers.

Michael Vaughan picks his top three Pakistan batsmen of all time

While speaking to Fox Cricket, Michael Vaughan was asked to pick his choice for the top three Pakistan batters of all time. Starting from the third on the list, Vaughan picked Babar Azam. The former England batter called Babar a world-class player and backed him to make a return to the Test team.

"I am going to go with a modern day player, modern day asset, just lost his place in the Test team. I am sure he is going to get it back. He is world-class across all the different formats. The average is 47 across those formats. In ODI cricket, he is nearly averaging 57. My No. 3 for Pakistan is Babar Azam," Vaughan said.

Babar Azam has been a star of Pakistan cricket over the years. Babar recently lost his place in Pakistan's Test team due to poor form. However, he is still an integral part of Pakistan's white-ball teams and has strong record across formats.

Michael Vaughan named Inzamam-ul-Haq as Pakistan's second best batter of all time. He claimed that Inzamam had unique skills and hitting ability which made his such a unique batter during his career.

"He is the big fella. Inzamam-ul-Haq, the Big Inzy. You get across all the formats. He didn't rely to run between wickets. But he didn't need to because he could just whack it out of the ground," he added.

Michael Vaughan hails Javed Miandad

Michael Vaughan chose Javed Miandad as the best Pakistan batter of all time. He lauded Miandad's competitive skills and the ability to sweep the ball across different formats.

"I had this player in my top three Pakistan players of all time two nights ago - Javed Miandad. What a player! Just a wonderful competitor! Back in the 80s, just skill, ferocious. Probably the first I ever saw who swept the ball brilliantly across all the different formats of the game," the legendary England batter claimed.

Javed Miandad had fantastic records across the formats. He scored 8832 runs in 124 Tests at a brilliant average of 52.57 with 23 hundreds. In ODIs, he scored 7381 runs in 233 ODIs at an average of 41.70 with 8 hundreds.

Pakistan create history in Australia

Meanwhile, Pakistan created history by registering their first ODI series win in Australia in 22 years. In the third and final T20I at Perth, the Men in Green stunned a hapless Australian team by 8 wickets.

Pakistan lost the first ODI at Melbourne in a heart-breaking fashion. However, they bounced back strongly to beat Australia in the second ODI in Adelaide. Continuing the momentum in the third T20I, Pakistan registered an outstanding win in Perth to lead their team to a memorable 2-1 win.
