Australia National Cricket Team pacer Mitchell Starc achieved a massive fest in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) Auction. The left-arm pacer became the second fast bowler in the history of the bidding event to breach the 50-crore mark in the IPL auctions after his Australia teammate Pat Cummins.
Mitchell Starc achieved the feat in the Indian Premier League (IPL) Auction 2025 after he was acquired by Delhi Capitals (DC) in the event, which took place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia recently. The Australia seamer got the whopping amount of INR 11.75 crore and this saw him breaching the 50 crore mark.

Starc has featured in the four IPL auctions and every time, he has bagged a whopping deal. He bagged his first IPL deal with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) when he joined them for Rs 4 crore in 2014. He had a two-year stint with the franchise and then didn't feature in the league for a while.
Starc was part of the IPL auction 2018 mega auction and joined KKR for Rs 9.4 crore. However, he couldn't play this season as he suffered an injury just before the IPL seas, and he missed the T20 league. However, he was back in the mix in 2024.

In the IPL 2024 auction, Starc shattered every record and became the most expensive player in the history of the league. The premier fast bowler was acquired by the Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 24.75 crore and then played a major role in helping the team win the title.
Starc's record for the most expensive player in the IPL auction was broken by Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer. The keeper-batter was acquired by the Lucknow Super Giants franchise for INR 27 crore in the 2025 auction recently.

Shreyas Iyer became the second most expensive pick in the IPL auction. The India National Cricket Team batter was brought by Punjab Kings for INR 26.75 crore. He captained the Kolkata Knight Riders to a title win last year and would want to emulate the same for the Punjab Kings this year.
Mitchell Starc, who was acquired for INR 11.75 crore, has amassed a total of 50.9 crore in IPL auctions. Pat Cummins is at the top of the list, with an income of Rs 54.15 crore in IPL auctions. Glenn Maxwell has earned Rs 49.50 crore in IPL auctions. Yuvraj Singh (48.1 crore) and Dinesh Karthik (44.35 crore) sit next, respectively.
