Former Pakistan fast bowler Tanvir Ahmed rated Mohammad Abbas higher than the former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Asif. In an online interaction, Tanvir said that Abbas is much better than Asif as a bowler. The former pacer's comments came amid Abbas' tremendous bowling against the England cricket team at Lord's.

Mohammad Abbas enrolled his name in the list of honorary bowlers at the 'Home of Cricket' because of his fantastic bowling in both innings of the match. The Pakistan National Cricket Team batted poorly in both of the innings of the Lord's Test, but Abbas ended the match as the brightest performer for the team with the ball.

Mohammad Abbas claims 9 wickets vs England at Lord's

Pakistan lost to England in London by 194 runs, and eventually lost the 3-match Test series as well. England won the Lord's match after claiming the opening match of the series, which was in Leeds. Without one more match to go, the Three Lions are leading the contest by 2-0 with the chance to whitewash the Men in Green.

On the ground where the Pakistani batter failed brutally against the English seamers, Mohammad Abbas tried his best to keep himself relevant in the contest through his well-controlled bowling. Utilizing the conditions well, Abbas took 5 wickets in the second innings to go with his first innings' 4 four wickets in the recently concluded Test match in London.

He is a bigger bowler than Mohammad Asif: Tanvir Ahmed says about Mohammad Abbas

In an online discussion, Tanvir Ahmed confidently claimed that Abbas is greater than Mohammad Asif. Highlighting Abbas' bowling in England, Tanvir said that the cricket fans in Pakistan still chant Asif's name.

"He is a bigger bowler than Asif, and our people don't take his name intentionally. What a great bowling Abbas has done in these two test matches,s and our people don't get out of Asif at all. They say, Asif, Asif, Asif," Tanvir Ahmed said.

"What is Asif? He has bowled more than 900 first-class matches, and 125 of his Test matches have ended in an out. His line of length is so good, he bowls so well, we don't get out of Asif at all. How many players have spoken about Abbas? How many bowlers have spoken about Muhammad Abbas? Why? Why not? Because he has not played with you people," he added.
