Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami will join forces with Ishant Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah in the upcoming England tour as they aim to capture the ultimate prize in Test cricket. India and New Zealand will lock horns in the inaugural final of the ICC World Test Championship in Southampton, with Virat Kohli’s men staying back to play five more Tests against England. Mohammed Shami rates India’s fast bowling attack of himself, Ishant, and Bumrah higher than that of New Zealand’s Tim Southee, Neil Wagner, and Trent Boult.

Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah are one of the best fast-bowling trios in the world as they have proved their effectiveness worldwide. The trio is likely to play together in the World Test Championship final and start in the Test series against England. Apart from them, India also have Umesh Yadav, Shardul Thakur, and Mohammed Siraj to choose from the 20-man squad.

Mohammed Shami asserts that they are better than Tim Southee, Neil Wagner, and Trent Boult as they complement each other exceptionally well. The 30-year old revealed that when one bowler has a bad day, they tried to pick them up by dragging the unit and cheering them up. Shami claimed that they have put in plenty of hard work to become what they are today.

“Obviously, we are (better than Boult, Southee and Wagner). When we play Test cricket, even if someone is having a bad day the other bowlers step up. When someone is down we make sure to pick up that teammate and carry the team forward as a unit. We try to cheer him up as well. If you see our records you will have an idea of what I’m talking about. Fans don’t become fans overnight, they know the entire history. We have done a lot of homework to build this fast-bowling trio of me, Ishant Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah,” Shami told Sports Tak.

Mohammed Shami further said that the conditions would not favour either side fully, anticipating a dogfight from New Zealand as both teams are solid. The Bengal seamer does not expect any outfit to leave anything behind.

“The top two teams have reached the final and the match is in England. Conditions won’t be one-sided for either teams. It will be a good match I think, both teams are balanced and solid. I don’t think either team will leave any lose point,” he added.
