As it is predicted before, the Chennai Super Kings are set to make more changes in their coaching set-up ahead of the IPL 2027 season. The franchise has already hired former India fast bowler Zaheer Khan as its new head coach, replacing Stephen Fleming.
According to the latest media reports, Chennai Super Kings are all set to appoint another former Team India pacer, Mohit Sharma, as part of Zaheer Khan's coaching set-up. Mohit had played for the Yellow Brigade in the Indian Premier League.

CSK removed Stephen Fleming after missing out on playoffs in multiple seasons. After months of speculation, the franchise named Zaheer Khan as their head coach. Former India and CSK captain MS Dhoni played a pivotal role behind the appointment of Zaheer.
As soon as Zaheer was formally appointed as the head coach of the team, it was assumed that the franchise would like to make a few other changes in their coaching set-up as well. According to a Times of India report, former India fast bowler Mohit Sharma, who played for India under the leadership of MS Dhoni, is all set to become the next bowling coach of the team.
CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirms the appointment of Mohit Sharma
CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan has confirmed the development through a direct comment. He said that the former India pacer, Mohit Sharma will join the caching team ahead of the IPL 2027 season as the bowling coach. He is joining the team as per Zaheer Khan's recommendation.
"Mohit will join CSK as our new bowling coach. His name was recommended by our head coach Zaheer Khan. Mohit was tremendous with us as a player as well, and we hope he will do a great job as bowling coach," Viswanathan informed Times of India.
Kasi Viswanathan also confirmed that there will be some other recruitments as well to decorate the coaching team in a new way. Announcements about the next appointments will be made by the club in the upcoming weeks.
"The next set of coaching staff will also be recruited on Zaheer's recommendation in the coming weeks," he added.
Who is Mohit Sharma?
The retired fast bowler, Mohit Sharma, is mostly remebered for his stint during the 2015 ODI World Cup, undder the captaincy of MS Dhoni as he was the joint third-highest wicket-taker. For the India national cricket team, Sharma played 26 ODIs and eight T20Is and picked up 31 and six wickets, respectively.
In the Indian Premier League, he featured for multiple teams, including the Chennai Super Kings. For them, he claimed the Purple Cap for taking most number of wickets in the 2014 IPL season. Mohit took 23 wickets in that campaign for the Super Kings. Overall, th
