The ICC has concluded its first half of the meeting, and the Asia Cup trophy controversy is yet to be raised by the BCCI or by the PCB as well.

The matter might likely be raised in the remainder of the meeting days, which gives Mohsin Naqvi some more time to mend things before the matter gets escalated.

The controversy involving the Asia Cup Trophy started when Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav refused to accept the trophy at the hands of the ACC Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who also holds a position in the Pakistan Internal Ministry and is the chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Mohsin Naqvi had then walked out of the ground with the trophy, and despite several formal pleas, he has urged the BCCI to send over a player to receive it from his hands at the ACC headquarters in Dubai.

BCCI lent time to Mohsin Naqvi before raising the Asia Cup trophy row in the ICC meeting

After Mohsin Naqvi's repeated denial of sending over the trophy to India, the BCCI issued a statement where they threatened to not only push for the impeachment of the ACC Chairman, but also stated that they would escalate the issue at the ICC Meeting.

ICC is now chaired by Jay Shah, the former BCCI secretary; however, Mohsin Naqvi seemed unbothered by any such development as he stood firm on his claim. The ICC Meeting in Dubai began earlier this week, and the first half has been concluded as well, with several major decisions made.

BCCI representatives are yet to make a formal mention of the Asia Cup Trophy dispute. The CEC meeting did not hear any such things from the BCCI; however, it is likely to come up for discussion at the Board meeting on Friday. Naqvi would have two more days to rectify himself and hand the trophy over by changing his mind.

ICC Meeting concluded with no change to Men's U-19 World Cup format

The ICC meeting had the ICC U-19 World Cup as one of the major agendas up for discussion during the Dubai CEC meeting. The discussion marked whether the Men's U-19 World Cup, which is soon going to enter its 19th edition, will observe a change in its format.

However, the decisions that were made in the Chief Executives' Committee meeting on Wednesday concluded that the U-19 World Cup will continue to be played with 50 overs a side. All these talks surfaced after several Associate members demanded that the Junior World Cup be played in the shorter format of the game.

The Full member nations of the ICC were in favour of the ICC's decision to maintain the one-day format, just like the previous 18 editions of the tournaments. Under 19 World Cup next edition will be co-hosted by Namibia and Zimbabwe and will be played next year in 2026.

ICC sets new revenue schemes for the future

Among all these discussions and several further discussions on the involvement of the WCA in a game that will soon be launched by the ICC, they had another major discussion on the stop-clock rule in Test matches.

The ICC also spoke and explored the area where the ICC sees huge revenue potential. It is none other than monetising data. The ICC CEO, Sanjog Gupta, made a presentation on their future plans and pathways, which included the above-mentioned details.
