Pakistan Shaheens, led by Irfan Khan Niazi, clinched the ACC Men’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 title by defeating Bangladesh A in a Super Over at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha. ACC President and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi handed the trophy to the winning team on Sunday, November 23.

Saad Masood and Sufiyan Muqeem played a major role in Pakistan Shaheens’ triumph. The final went down to a Super Over, where Pakistan denied Bangladesh A a title. Chasing seven runs in the Super Over, the Shaheens sealed the victory with two balls to spare, securing the ACC Rising Stars crown for the third time.

Mohsin Naqvi Hands Pakistan Asia Cup Trophy in Doha

Mohsin Naqvi has been in the news for months for controversies around the Asia Cup 2025. India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, refused to take the trophy from Naqvi. The Men in Blue still have not received their Asia Cup trophy after beating Pakistan in the final earlier this year.

On Sunday, Naqvi finally handed over a trophy that went to his own country. Pakistan A won a thrilling final against Bangladesh A in Doha. Naqvi, who is both the ACC president and the PCB chairman, was at the stadium and watched the tense match with excitement.

Following the victory, Naqvi walked out for the presentation and gave the trophy to the winning captain. He celebrated Pakistan’s win and completed the presentation without any issues.

Pakistan Shaheens Truly Played Like Shaheens - Mohsin Naqvi

In a statement, Mohsin Naqvi said the team displayed the skill and unity needed to lift the title. Naqvi also congratulated the entire squad and coaching staff, calling the victory an important moment for Pakistan’s cricketing future.

"Pakistan Shaheens truly played like Shaheens and became champions for the third time. They showcased excellent teamwork by defeating Bangladesh in the final. Their performance throughout the tournament was impressive," said Naqvi.

"I wholeheartedly congratulate all the players and the coaching staff. Today’s victory heralds a bright and glorious future for Pakistan cricket," he stated.

Ahmed Daniyal Named Player of the Match

Bangladesh batted first in the Super Over. Ahmed Daniyal removed Abdul Gaffar Saqlain with the very first ball. Despite a wide that ran to the boundary, Daniyal kept things tight and restricted Bangladesh to just six runs.

Pakistan needed seven to seal the title. They started the chase with a leg bye, followed by a single, before Saad Masood drilled a boundary. He then inside-edged the next ball to complete the winning run and secure the Rising Stars trophy.

Earlier in the match, Pakistan posted a total of 126 runs. However, they struck back quickly after Bangladesh’s openers gave their team a strong start. Arafat Minhas, Saad Masood, Sufiyan Muqeem, and Maaz Sadaqat dragged Bangladesh from 36-1 to 53-7.

Rakibul Hasan and SM Meherob revived hopes briefly, but Daniyal’s double strike ended the partnership and left Bangladesh nine down. Saqlain and Ripon Mondol brought the equation down to two off the final ball, but they managed only a single, forcing the Super Over.
