Which rule did Hasan Ali violate?
Hasan Ali was found to have violated Article 2.5, which relates to “using language, actions or gestures that disparage or could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his or her dismissal during a match”.
However, Hasan Ali accepted his mistake for going beyond the line and apologised to the batter after the match. Also, Hasan Ali accepted the sanctioned amount imposed on him. This action showed that the PCB is not going to be lenient against the one who tries to violate the rules.
Is it happening because of recent controversies?
The Pakistan cricket team has a strong relationship with controversy. Before the Hasan Ali incident, several other incidents were also highlighted. Before the start of the league, news spread from somewhere that the matches would be played behind closed doors due to oil and gas refinery issues amid the war between two Asian countries.
Further going in the tournament, when all the captains held a press conference, the former Australian batter David Warner lashed out at Md. Rizwan and other players, after they were seen laughing, said, “We have got some school kids here”.
However, it didn't stop; another news came when players started to withdraw just before the start of the tournament so that they can take part in the ongoing 19th edition of the Indian Premier League, which is being played at the same time window as the PSL due to the T20 World Cup campaign.
So, after looking at Hasan Ali's incidents, it has become quite necessary for the PSL to take necessary action against the players so that games can be maintained.
Karachi Kings Edge Past Lahore Qalandars in Thrilling PSL 11 Clash
Despite a disciplinary setback, Karachi Kings put up a composed performance to chase down 129 and secure a four-wicket win over defending champions Lahore Qalandars in the sixth match of Pakistan Super League 11 at Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday.
The chase started nervously for Karachi as captain David Warner (8) and Salman Ali Agha (0) fell cheaply in the third over, both dismissed by Shaheen Shah Afridi, leaving the team at 10/2.
Muhammad Waseem anchored the innings with a calm 38 off 37 balls, including three boundaries and a six. He built important partnerships with Saad Baig (19) and Moeen Ali (18) to keep Karachi in the hunt. However, the team was in trouble at 88/5 after Waseem and Moeen were both dismissed in the 15th over.
The lower order fought back, with Khushdil Shah and Azam Khan putting together a crucial 32-run stand for the sixth wicket, bringing the target down to just 14 runs off the final over.
From where did the game change?
The game took a dramatic twist when umpires penalised Lahore for ball tampering, gifting Karachi five runs and reducing the chase to nine. In the last over, Haris Rauf dismissed Khushdil on the first ball, but Abbas Afridi responded in style, smashing a boundary and a six off the next two deliveries to seal a thrilling victory for Karachi.
