Indian Premier League (IPL) has witnessed 14 editions since its inception in 2008. IPL 2021, the 14th season of the tournament, has completed its first leg which saw 29 matches. The tournament was postponed after few players were affected by Covid-19 but the remaining games will be conducted in September-October this year.

In the last 14 years, IPL has witnessed many players bagging the limelight with their leadership skills. Ambati Rayudu has played 166 matches in IPL so far and has not captained a single match. The wicket-keeper batsman played his debut season in 2010 and has been part of every subsequent edition. The right-handed batsman was part of Mumbai Indians from 2010 to 2017, where he played under skipper Sachin Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma.

Since the 2018 season, he has been part of Chennai Super Kings, playing under skipper MS Dhoni. The 35-year-old has scored 3795 runs in 156 innings at an average of 29.64 and strike rate of 127+.

Rayudu has also smashed 20 half-centuries and 1 century. In the 2018 edition, he was the highest run-scorer of tournament champions Chennai Super Kings with 602 runs. Ambati Rayudu won 3 IPL titles with Mumbai Indians in 2013, 2015, 2017 and 1 titles with Chennai Super Kings in 2018.
