A sensational viral video is making rounds on social media, claiming that India star Yuzvendra Chahal took a dig at Royal Challengers Bangalore’s bowling lineup for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The leg-spinner plied his trade for RCB for almost a decade. He was signed up by the Bengaluru-based outfit in 2014 and played for them till IPL 2021. He was an indispensable part of the RCB team before being surprisingly released by them ahead of IPL 2022. Overall, Yuzvendra Chahal played 114 matches for the team, taking 177 wickets in 136 innings.
Last year, he had expressed his disappointment over the franchise not retaining him despite his impressive displays for them over the years. Yuzvendra Chahal had also revealed that there was no communication from the franchise even though he played eight seasons for them.
“When I put my name up for the auction, they promised me that they would go all out for me. I said okay, but then I was very angry [He was not picked by RCB]. I think I did not speak to the coaches for 2-3 days. Even when I played my first match for RR against RCB, I did not speak to anyone,” Yuzvendra Chahal had said in an interview on Ranveer Allahbadia’s YouTube channel.
“Definitely, I felt very bad. My main journey started [from there] in 2014. I also felt very weird because I played for the franchise for eight years. I would also say that I got the India cap because of my performances for RCB because they gave me a chance to perform. From the very first match, Virat [Kohli] bhai showed trust in me. It feels bad because I had been there for eight years,” he added.
Yuzvendra Chahal trolls RCB:
Talking about the viral clip, Yuzvendra Chahal was playing an online game when one of the players asked him about RCB’s bowling lineup for IPL 2024. In reply, the leg-spinner just said: “Moye, moye.”
For the uninitiated, ‘moye, moye’ is a viral social media trend. It originated from a Serbian song that gained massive popularity on TikTok and subsequently spread to various social media platforms. The lyrics of the song hint at anguish and despair. However, Indian users generally use it for humorous purposes.
