Mumbai Indians (MI) bowling all-rounder Deepak Chahar grabbed the attention of fans ahead of the third Test between India and England at Lord’s. The pace bowler was seen training with Team India during a session at the iconic venue despite not being part of the squad for the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.

With the series evenly poised at 1-1, the third Test will be crucial for both teams in the five-match series. After England’s win in the first Test at Headingley, India bounced back with a victory at Edgbaston. The third Test will be played at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground, starting on Thursday, July 10.

Deepak Chahar was seen at Lord’s on Wednesday, July 9. He spent time with the Indian team as they prepared for the third Test against England. Chahar participated in training activities but was not in official training gear. He may be assisting the team in their preparations.

ESPNcricinfo shared photos of Chahar at the ground. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not provided an official update on the pacer's presence.

Earlier, Punjab Kings spinner Harpreet Brar also joined the squad and was seen bowling to batters during net sessions.

Deepak Chahar was last seen in action during IPL 2025. He played for the Mumbai Indians (MI) after switching from the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). MI had signed the pacer for ₹9.25 crore in the December mega auction, ending his seven-season stint with CSK.

Chahar played 14 matches in his debut season for the Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai franchise. He took 11 wickets at an average of 34.18 and an economy rate of 9.17. However, an injury sidelined him ahead of the playoffs.

Mumbai Indians reached Qualifier 2 but were knocked out by Shreyas Iyer’s Punjab Kings (PBKS). Punjab then lost the final to Rajat Patidar-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), who secured their first-ever IPL title.

The right-arm pacer has played 25 T20Is, taking 31 wickets at an average of 24.09 and an economy rate of 8.30. His best performance came in 2019, when he took 6/7 against Bangladesh - the best bowling figures by an Indian in T20Is.

Chahar has played 13 ODIs, picking up 16 wickets at an average of 30.56. He has also contributed with the bat, scoring 203 runs in nine innings at an average of 33.83 and a strike rate of 98.06, including two half-centuries, with a best score of an unbeaten 69.
