Afghanistan star Mujeeb Ur Rahman has registered himself for the IPL 2025 mega auction at the base price of INR 2 crore. The right-arm spinner missed the last edition of the IPL owing to an injury.
In the 2024 auction, he was signed up by Kolkata Knight Riders at his base price of INR 2 crore. However, he could not play at all due to a sprain in his right phalanx. He was later replaced in the Knight Riders squad by his compatriot Allah Ghazanfar.
A highly-rated spinner, Mujeeb has not played in the IPL since 2021. His IPL journey began with Punjab Kings in 2018. In his debut IPL season, the Afghan star played 11 games and picked up 14 wickets while having an economy rate of less than 7.
After playing three seasons for the Punjab Kings, Mujeeb represented Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2021. He played only one game in IPL 2021 and picked up 2 wickets.
