Unlike the last previous, where Hardik Pandya faced a lot of backlash for the way he was brought into the team, and made the captain, MI looked like a complete team with all bases covered.

Yes, one can say that the team retained the majority of its core from the last season, so what was so different about this season?

The answer to the question is that Mumbai Indians clicked as a unit in the season gone by, with Ryan Rickelton providing an aggressive start to the team at the top of the order in the powerplay.

The South African batter got good support from former MI captain Rohit Sharma, who came into his element in the second half of the season and ended up scoring more than 400 runs.

The use of their number three batter by the Mumbai Indians was one of the smartest moves they implemented this season.

They used their highest run scorer of IPL 2025, Suryakumar Yadav, as a floater, sending him early if they got a good start and holding him back when a wicket fell early.

The move paid off as Surya, along with Tilak, were the backbone of the team's middle order and helped Mumbai Indians post an above-par total on a number of occasions.

Hardik and Naman Dhir fulfilled the role of finishers to the best of their abilities and capitalized on the platform laid by the middle-order batters.

As far as MI's bowling is concerned, it had two of the world's most lethal bowlers at its disposal in Bumrah and Boult

The experienced fast bowling duo picked up wickets in all three phases of the innings and kept the opposition's scoring rate in check.

Bumrah and Boult were well supported by Ashwani Kumar, who was the find of the tournament and impressed everyone on his IPL debut against KKR.

The only disappointment for MI would have been the injury to Deepak Chahar, who also played an integral part with the new ball.

MI's spin bowling department was handled by Mitchell Santner and Karn Sharma, both of whom did a decent job.
