Musheer Khan has played only one IPL match so far. He played for Punjab in IPL 2025 Qualifier 1 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on May 29 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur.
In that game, Musheer scored 0 runs off 3 balls and took 1 wicket for 27 runs in 2 overs. He played as an Impact Substitute, but Punjab Kings lost the match.
Iyer Enjoys Sensational Batting Form for Punjab Kings
While Musheer Khan waits to break into the playing XI, captain Shreyas Iyer is dominating IPL 2026. The Mumbai batter has scored 203 runs in four innings at an average of 67.67 and a strike rate of 187.96.
Iyer has scored three half-centuries in a row. He made 18 off 11 against Gujarat Titans (GT), 50 off 29 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), and an unbeaten 69 off 33 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) during a chase.
He continued his form with 66 off 35 against Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede Stadium. Iyer has improved his batting and remains strong in chases throughout the tournament. He has led Punjab Kings to four wins in their first five matches, while the game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) was washed out due to rain.
Shreyas Iyer Leads Punjab Kings to Historic Start in IPL 2026
Shreyas Iyer became the first Punjab Kings captain to secure four wins in his first five matches in charge. This run includes one washed-out game against Kolkata Knight Riders, pushing Punjab Kings to the top of the points table this season.
Shreyas Iyer also reached his fastest 200 runs in an IPL season in just five innings. He has already hit 14 sixes this season, nearly half of his total from the previous title-winning campaign with Kolkata Knight Riders.
As Punjab Kings prepare to face Lucknow Super Giants on April 19, the unbeaten captain will aim to extend their four-match winning streak. The team continues to rely on Iyer for consistent, aggressive performances to strengthen their playoff chances early in the season.
