Najmul Hossain Shanto openly blames Bangladesh batters for humiliating 0-2 loss to India

Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto expressed his disappointment with the whitewash loss against India in the two-match Test series. Najmul Hossain Shanto admitted that Bangladesh batters failed to deliver in the two Test matches, adding that they didn't convert the starts into big scores.
Bangladesh came to India after securing a 2-0 victory over Pakistan in the two-match Test series. They started the first match by dominating with the ball in Chennai. However, the visitors failed to continue their dominance throughout the series and suffered a whitewash against the Rohit Sharma-led side.

After losing the second Test, Najmul Hossain Shanto acknowledged the team's poor batting performance. Shanto emphasized that they needed to adapt to the playing conditions. He pointed out that many of their batters were dismissed after facing only 30 to 40 balls.
"Both the Tests we didn't bat well. In these conditions we need to bat well. If you look at our batters - we played 30-40 balls and got out. It's important in a Test match, when batsmen get in, you should look to score big runs," Shanto said, as quoted by Cricbuzz.
That Partnership Cost Us That Game - Najmul Hossain Shanto
Shanto highlighted that the partnership between Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja impacted the outcome during the first Test. He said that the bowling unit needs to analyze how to take crucial wickets during key moments. Shanto also praised Mominul Haque and Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
"The way Ashwin and Jaddu batted at that time - they batted really well. As a bowling unit we need to look at those moments - how we can get those wickets. That partnership cost us that game. The way Mominul batted this innings will help going forward. And the was Miraz bowled in both innings - he bowled really well," Shanto added.
The left-handed batter scored 152 runs in four innings at an average of 38.00, including one half-century. Shanto's best performance came during the second innings of the first Test match in Chennai. The Bangladesh skipper scored 82 runs off 127 balls with the help of eight boundaries and three sixes.
Rishabh Pant Hit Winnings Runs For Team India In 2nd Test
On Day 5, India targetted to secure the remaining eight wickets. They took six wickets in the first session, which was extended to help bowl out Bangladesh. The Tigers were dismissed for 146 runs in the morning session. Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ravichandran Ashwin took three wickets apiece.
Team India lost Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma for low scores early in their chase. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored another half-century before getting out when India needed just two runs. Virat Kohli remained not out with 29 runs, and Rishabh Pant hit the winning runs as India completed a 2-0 series sweep.
