Narendra Modi Stadium receives bomb threat during India U-19 vs Australia U-19 match

Gujarat's Narendra Modi Stadium received a bomb threat while the India Under-19 and Australia Under-19 cricket teams were on the ground for the second unofficial Multi-Day format match in the ongoing series. The Australia U-19 team is currently in India for a multi-format series, and the teams played a Multi-Day match at the Narendra Modi Stadium on October 7.

According to a Sportstar report, alongside the Ahmedabad stadium, several other places in the state also received bomb threats this morning via e-mails. The Ahmedabad High Court and several schools and colleges across Ahmedabad received bomb threats.

Police take instant action after receiving the bomb threat

The emails also reportedly threatened to hamper an upcoming Diljit Dosanjh concert set to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium on November 21. Gujarat Cricket Association has confirmed the incident of receiving bomb threats across multiple Ahmedabad's multiple places.

Gujarat Cricket Association Secretary Anil Patel told the media house that they communicated with the local police station as soon as they came to know about possible threats. The police mentioned that this happened in the past as well.

“We informed the local police as soon as we received the email. This has happened a couple of times earlier as well, including during the World Cup 2023 and IPL,” Gujarat Cricket Association Secretary Anil Patel told Sportstar.

Talking about the India U-19 vs Australia U-19 match in Ahmedabad on October 7, IND Under-19 won the match by 10 wickets as Australia U-19 bundelded only for 151-run for 10 wickets in their second innings. India U-19 needed to score only 11 runs to win the match.

Tanmoy Baloda was named Player of the Match for his brilliant bowling spells in both of the innings. In the first innings, Baloda claimed 6/32, followed by a bowling figure of 8/41 in the second innings. In total, Tanmoy Baloda concluded the match taking 14 wickets and scoring 28 runs with the bat. The 28 runs he scored were during the second innings.

IND U-19 got a major lead in their first innings, after dismissing Australia for only 174 runs. The 315-run in the first innings came as a major boost for the home team. Newly appointed India Under-19 skipper Yashbardhan Chauhan scored 52 off 83, and their middle-order batter, Abhipray Biswas strenghten the team's first innings run tally with a 73 runs off 62 balls knock.

On the other side, Australia U-19 struggled to impress with their batting works in both of the innings as they registered only 174 and 151 in first and second innings.
