While Naseem Shah was not a part of the Pakistan team that lost against Afghanistan on Monday (October 23), the fast-bowler is still being trolled heavily on the social media.

The right-arm pacer was ruled out of the World Cup after suffering an injury in his bowling arm during the Asia Cup match against India last month. And Pakistan are surely missing his services in the ongoing ICC Men???s Cricket World Cup 2023.

On Monday, they suffered their third defeat in a row in the competition and their chances of progressing to the semifinal is hanging by a thread. Pakistan now have 2 wins and 3 defeats in the competition. Talking about the game between Pakistan and Afghanistan, the latter registered their first-ever win over the former in the ODIs. Prior to the World Cup game, Afghanistan had lost all seven ODIs they played against Pakistan.

Naseem Shah???s prediction backfires:

However, they finally crossed the finishing line on Monday to register their second win of the ongoing World Cup. Before defeating Pakistan, Afghanistan had stunned world champions England by 69 runs in Delhi. Afghanistan had their task cut out after Pakistan posted a competitive total of 282 runs in the allotted 50 overs.

For the Men in Green, their opener Abdullah Shafique and captain Babar Azam scored fifties. While Shafique scored 58, Babar scored 74 runs. For Afghanistan, young spinner Noor Ahmed, who was playing his first-ever World Cup game, starred with the ball, taking 3 big wickets for 49 runs.

With the bat, Afghanistan chased down the total in 49 overs by losing just 2 wickets. Their openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz (65) and Ibrahim Zadran (87) laid the foundation for the chase by adding 130 runs for the first wicket. It was followed by a 60-run stand between Zadran and Rahmat Shah (77*) before the former departed. Shah and captain Hashmatullah Shahidi (48)* then shared an unbeaten stand of 96 runs to take their team home.

And as soon as Afghanistan hit the winning runs, the fans turned their focus towards Naseem Shah and brutally trolled him for a post he made during the game. After Gurbaz and Zadran gave their team a flying start, the fast-bowler took to X (formerly Twitter) to predict that Pakistan would still win the game.

???Believe me, Pakistan will win from here. Any doubts? ,??? wrote Naseem Shah.
