Nepal T20: Far West United Co-Owner Expresses Joy After Team's First Win Of The Tournament

Far West United co-owner Bhupendra Singh has expressed his delight after his team’s first win in the ongoing Nepal T20 League. United opened its account in the inaugural edition of the tournament on Monday (December 26) with a thrilling win over Kathmandu Knights.
United had suffered a heavy 67-run defeat at the hands of Lumbini All-Stars in their tournament opener a couple of days ago. it, however, did not take them long to bounce back from the defeat and register their first win of the competition.

Captain Hashmatullah Shahidi led from the very front, making a huge impact with both bat and ball to guide his team to a 4-wicket win.

Shahidi’s decision to bowl first after winning the toss turned out to be spot on as he and his teammates managed to restrict the Knights to a modest total of 98 for 9 in the stipulated 20 overs.
For the Knights, Alex Blake put up a fighting knock of 45 not out while for United, Umair Ali picked up 3 wickets for just 15 runs. Shahidi and Bhuvan Karki also picked up 2 wickets apiece.
Bhupendra Singh delighted with Far West United’s performance:
Chasing 99, Far West United crossed the finishing line in the very last over with captain Shahidi leading the charge with the bat. United did lose wickets in a flurry and were reeling at 69 for 6 at one stage but Shahidi held firm from one end and took his team home.
He remained unbeaten on 50 off 49 balls. Delighted with his team’s first win of the tournament, Bhupendra Singh said: “It was amazing. Everyone played very well. They are good in fielding, they are good in bowling and they are good in batting. So, it was amazing. Thank you.”
Thanks to the win, Far West United have moved to the fourth spot from the bottom of the points table. They will be in action next on Wednesday (December 28) when they take on Lumbini All-Stars.
