Nepal T20 League - Biratnagar Super Kings Beat Janakpur Royals In Second Qualifier To Book Place In Final

Biratnagar Super Kings, on Tuesday (January 10), beat Janakpur Royals by 39 runs in the second qualifier to storm into the final of the ongoing Nepal T20 League 2022/23. The Super Kings, who had defeated Kathmandu Knights in the eliminator, will now take on Lumbini All Stars in the final.
Chasing 168, the Royals finished their innings on 128. The Royals were off to a shaky start as their opener Sharafuddin Ashraf was run out for just 4. However, skipper Trevon Griffith and Chadwick Walton soon steadied the ship with a 56-run stand.
Raj Nannan broke the stand when he had Griffith stumped out for 34. Sundeep Jora could not last long and returned to the pavilion after scoring just 9 runs as the Royals found themselves 3 down for 79.
Walton and Khadak Bohora then took the score past the 100-run mark and shared a 32-run stand before the former’s dismissal opened the floodgates.
Nannan struck again to remove Walton for 51. From thereon, the Royals suffered an inexplicable collapse and were all out for 128 from 111 for 3.
Nepal T20 League – Biratnagar Super Kings innings:
Earlier in the game, Biratnagar Super Kings scored 167 for 6 in the allotted 20 overs after their skipper Rohit Paudel won the toss and elected to bat first.
The Super Kings were off to a good start with their openers Gauranshu Sharma and Arjun Saud not giving the Royals bowlers any chance to pick up early wickets. Both the openers got good starts with the bat although they could not convert them into big scores.
Sharma scored 42 while Saud scored 35. Lalit Rajbanshi broke the stand when he sent back Saud. Captain Paudel was the next batsman and he failed to get going, scoring just 1.

It was followed by a 43-run stand between Sharma and Hussain Talat before both of them departed in quick succession as the Super Kings found themselves 4 down for 125. Towards the end, Raj Nannan played a fine cameo of 33 runs from just 18 balls to take the score past the 150-run mark.
