Janakpur Royals thrash Far West United:

Chasing 162, Far West United were all out for just 79 as they registered the lowest total of the tournament so far. Their innings lasted less than 16 overs as the Royals registered a big and comfortable win.

United were off to a disastrous start as their opener Dev Khanal was out for just 1. It was followed by a 31-run stand between Bhim Sharki (16) and skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi (32) before the former’s dismissal opened the floodgates.

After Sharki’s dismissal, United kept losing wickets and were 7 down for just 51. Apart from Sharki and Shahidi, only Zahir Khan (17*) managed to touch the double-digit mark with the bat for United.

3 players could not even open their accounts while as many as 4 managed to score only 1 during the disastrous batting display. For the Royals, Samiullah Shinwari picked up 3 for 16 while Pawan Sarraf and Sompal Kami picked up 2 wickets apiece.

Earlier in the game, Sundeep Jora scored a fine fifty to help Janakpur Royals post a competitive total of 161 for 7 in the allotted 20 overs. Skipper Trevon Griffith and Sharafuddin Ashraf gave the Royals a good start, adding 52 runs for the first wicket before departing in quick succession.

Just like the openers, Chadwick Walton got the start too but failed to convert. Jora, however, converted his start into a fifty and guided his team to a good total.
