Kathmandu Knights, on Tuesday (January 3), defeated Biratnagar Super Kings by 34 runs to get back to winning ways. The match was reduced to 9 over per side.

Chasing 93, Biratnagar Super Kings were off to a disastrous start. None of their top four batsmen managed to touch the double-digit mark as they found themselves 4 down for just 12.

Gauranshu Sharm and Bibek Yadav then stopped the rot with a 33-run stand before Super Kings suffered another collapse and were all out for just 58 from 45 for 4. For the Knights, Kamal Airee picked up 3 wickets for just 13 runs.

Kathmandu Knights’ innings:

Earlier in the game, Kathmandu Knights put up a fine batting display to score 92 for 5 in the allotted 9 overs. Knights skipper Gyanendra Malla won the toss and elected to bat first.

His decision, however, backfired early on as the Knights were off to a poor start. Openers Lokesh Bam (1) and Virandeep Singh (5) failed to get going while Sunam Gautam could not even open his account as the Knights found themselves reeling at 14 for 3 in the second over.

Alex Blake (13) and Malla (14) got the starts but they could not capitalize on them. Sandeep Rajali (32* off 22) and Kamal Airee (14* off 5), however, played fine cameos to guide their team to a good total. For the Super Kings, Nandan Yadav was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 for 8.
