Lumbini All Stars continued their winning start in Nepal T20 League with a thrilling win over Far West United on Wednesday (December 28). After both the teams ended their respective innings on 137, the winner was decided by the super over.

In the super over, All Stars scored 19 runs for the loss of 1 wicket against Karan KC. Lahiru Milantha smashed two sixes in the over to power his team to a good score. In reply, United managed 10 runs in their super over.

Lumbini All Stars’ chase:

Chasing 138 to register their fourth consecutive win in Nepal T20 League, Lumbini All Stars finished on.  The All Stars could not make a good start with the bat and kept losing wickets at regular intervals.

In-form opener Lahiru Milantha (34) was the only batter in the top six to touch the double-digit mark as the other five batsmen registered scores of 0,0, 4, 9, and 3. At one stage, the All Stars were reeling for 56 for 6 and even the 100-run mark was looking like a distant dream.

However, a 30-run stand between Bipul Sharma (31) and Kishore Mahato stopped the rot and revived All Stars’ hope. United, however, struck twice in quick succession to remove both of them to reduce All Stars to 107 for 8 in the 17th over.

But just when it seemed that United would go on to win the match comfortably, Gulshan Jha played a fine knock to tie the game. He scored an unbeaten 36 off 24 balls to force a thrilling end to the game. Karan KC had only five runs to defend in the final over and he did a brilliant job with the ball.
