Netherlands players soar in ICC Women's ODI Player Rankings after stunning Tri-Series opener

In the latest ICC Women's ODI Player Rankings, Netherlands women’s cricket team players have seen significant improvements following their strong performances in the opening match of the ODI tri-series.

The Netherlands is hosting the ODI Tri-Series against Papua New Guinea and Scotland. The Netherlands secured a hard-fought three-wicket victory over Papua New Guinea in Utrecht to make an impressive start to their ODI Tri-Series at home.

Robine Rijke and Netherlands players climb ICC Women's ODI Player Rankings

The standout performer for the Dutch was Robine Rijke, who played a crucial role in the thrilling win with a well-crafted half-century. Rijke’s 60 runs from 75 balls not only steered the Netherlands Women to victory but also propelled her up in the updated ICC Women's ODI Batter Rankings by 35 spots.

The right-hander is now sitting in the 52nd spot with a career-high rating in the latest ICC rankings. Apart from Rijke, Dutch players Iris Zwilling and Caroline de Lange have also seen notable rises in the latest ICC Women's ODI Bowling Rankings.

Zwilling’s effective three-wicket spell, which helped her team to win the first game, moved her up eight places to 45th in the Women's ODI Rankings for the bowlers led by England’s Sophie Ecclestone followed by Kate Cross at the second spot.

Meanwhile, Caroline, who took two crucial wickets for 34 runs, climbed two positions to 80th place in the updated Women's ODI Bowling Rankings. On the other hand, Papua New Guinea batter Pauke Siaka played a great knock of 26 runs in the first match of the ODI Tri-Series.

Natalie Sciver-Brunt lead the rankings

Siaka’s performance has earned her a significant boost in the ODI batter rankings, climbing 22 places to 83rd. Notably, India’s Deepti Sharma is sitting at the fourth spot in the ICC Women's ODI Bowling Rankings, and she is the only Indian among the top 25 players.

Speaking about the Women's ODI All-rounder Rankings, Natalie Sciver-Brunt is leading the chart, with Deepti (5th spot) and Pooja Vastrakar (18th spot) being the only players from the Indian women’s cricket team among the top-10 players.

Natalie Sciver-Brunt is the leading batter in the latest Women's ODI Rankings, followed by South Africa's Laura Wolvaardt, Sri Lanka's Chamari Athapaththu, India's Smriti Mandhana, and Australia's Beth Mooney. Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur is the ninth batter in the ODI Rankings.

South Africa to conduct training camps ahead of Women's T20 World Cup 2024

Notably, the South African women’s cricket team will start their preparations for the upcoming ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 with training camps in Tshwane. According to the ICC, the bowling camp will be held between 5-7 August, and a total of 13 players will take part in the training camp, while 12 players will participate in the batting camp from 6-8 August Tshwane.

South Africa is slotted in Group B at the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, with their matches scheduled against England (3 October), the West Indies (5 October), Scotland (10 October), and Bangladesh (12 October), and the top two teams from the first stage in the tournament.
