The second T20I between the Netherlands and New Zealand in The Hague has been rescheduled for August 5, a day earlier than the original date.

The Royal Dutch Cricket Association and New Zealand Cricket have agreed to change the date following the cancellation of a connecting aircraft, which impacted the BlackCaps’ travel to the West Indies for three T20Is and as many ODIs beginning August 10.

The two Twenty20 Internationals between the Netherlands and New Zealand will now be played back-to-back on August 4 and 5, according to ESPNcricinfo.

New Zealand is presently on a European tour, which began in May with a Test series against England. England won all three Tests between the two sides. New Zealand then travelled to Ireland for three One-Day Internationals, which they swept, and they presently lead the three-match T20I series 1-0.

New Zealand Has A Busy Schedule In The Upcoming Months

Following their tour to Ireland, New Zealand will play two T20Is and one ODI in Scotland before going to the Netherlands.

With the postponement of their second Twenty20 International against the Netherlands, New Zealand will have only a four-day break between that match and the first Twenty20 International against the West Indies in Jamaica. Due to the hectic schedule, New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has been changing its lineup throughout the European trip.

Kane Williamson, Trent Boult, Tim Southee, and Devon Conway, who all played in the Test series against England, have all been rested for the series against Ireland, Scotland, and the Netherlands.

The NZC has also granted permission for Tom Latham, Henry Nicholls, and Jacob Duffy to return to New Zealand after the ODIs against Ireland. Meanwhile, Matt Henry and Will Young have been granted permission to play county cricket following the ODI series against Ireland.

As far as the T20 WC is concerned, New Zealand, the runners-up in the 2021 T20 World Cup, will open its campaign on October 22 against reigning champions Australia in Sydney.
